Last night was another bad showing against a top team. The Blues failed to convert the chance to take control of the West with a win over the Vancouver Canucks. Roberto Luongo showed the Blues why he is one of the top goaltenders in the NHL. Luongo saved all 29 shots the Blues took to complete the shutout, his third on the season. In an interview with ESPN, Luongo said, “These guys are right behind us, so it was a big game.” Alex Burrows had a goal early in the third period, and Christopher Higgins added an empty netter to get the 2-0 victory. The Blues had plenty of chances to put themselves ahead, but they couldn’t get past Luongo. This game was a better sign for the Blues come playoff time.
Till Next Time!
